I experience, analyze and synthesize the spirit of the information provided to me through all of my senses.  My art is a process of understanding that spirit. I do not create what I see, I create things to find answers to long-debated questions such as: "Why am I here?"

Graphic Art

A wide variety of graphic art is available from web-ready to print and press.  My graphic art and photographs has appeared in, and on, a variety of books (Alberta author, Richard Stevenson’s Live Evil and Bye Bye Blackbird, UK author, John O. Thompson’s Gates of Even, Charles S. Noble’s hearthwild / post cardiac Banff, Les Brost’s The Rural Roots Reader, Alberta Agriculture and Foods’s Agrivantage 2002 Report). A few notable graphic and photography projects include a photo shoot of Queen Council members in Lethbridge for Alberta Justice’s newsletter and the graphic montage used by The City of Lethbridge for the Team Alberta Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany, a graphic montage of Alberta Farms and Ranches for a real estate trade show in the UK, and CD print media for Michael St. George’s Dubbin’ de Vibe album.

I also make 3D images both visually and electronically.  A recent interest lies in combining innovative plastics and metallic paints with my handmade paper to produce mystical-looking, weather-proofed garden sculptures.

I have illustrated poems for such poets as John B. Lee and Michael St. George and produced graphic art for government, commercial and the art industries.

I have provided a variety of publishing services for titles produced for BGP Corp. and for other publishing companies (Ekstasis, Black Moss, Thistledown, Exile Editions, KeeWatin Publications) or government agencies that range from complete publishing services to specialized graphic, format, or photographic services.

A large number of posters, business cards, brochures, newsletters, flyers etc. have been created and produced by me.  I support many community organizations by offering a substantial discount to organizations that I feel benefit my community.  If your organization would like assistance with pre-press work or would like to take advantage of my printing service network, feel free to contact me and discuss your upcoming project or organization needs.

My publishing company, Blue Grama, is a friend of CKXU 88.3 FM, Southern Alberta's only campus-community radio station!  If you have a friend's card, you can get 10% discount off of any publishing product or service.  Visit Blue Grama for publication listings.

Visual Art

Handmade Paper and sculpture work are the two main concentrations of my visual art work.

My sculpture work contains recycled organic materials.  I focus on sculptures that depict dancers and readers.  In 2008, I exhibited and presented a demonstration at the Galt Museum two-day, 3-d sculpture exhibit.

As the Chinook Wood Turning Guild was also demonstrating, I concentrated on recycling wood.  This sculpture was created using a wire-frame armature topped with a combination of wood shavings and sawdust and plaster; it was further shaped with a "Dremel"-like tool and treated with a hand-tinted co-polymer to stabilize the form and then glazed with hand-tinted veneer allowing for safe, short-term outdoor exposure to the elements.
