Ryanne is part of Marlene's ongoing series of garden dancers.

Ryanne is my sculpture tribute to National Film Board of Canada's Ryan. The Oscar® winning animated short (13 min 54 s) award-winning animation which is an animated tribute to Canadian animator, Ryan Larkin, directed by Chris Landreth in 2004.

In Ryan, the voices of Larkin and people who have known him, speak through strange, twisted, broken, disembodied 3D-generated characters. Incredibly realistic and detailed, Ryan was created and animated with disturbing appearances from original, personal, hand-animated 3D world which Chris calls 'psychological realism'.
